Today, September 15th, the Next Great Americans Tour bus parked outside Wilson Hall Middle School to bring the Super Citizen Program. Liberty Learning Foundation presents Libby Liberty™ to the students and she brought with her valuable lessons about our country and the opportunity and hope that she represents.
The Super Citizen Program will be implemented into the classroom by teachers over the next 10 weeks and will bring lessons in social studies, character, civics and financial literacy.
These students learned today that they hold a title even higher than the President of the United States: the title of citizen. In this title the students have the power to be the change they want to see in the world. They can make a difference in their homes, schools and communities and they will celebrate this program by honoring a hero of their choosing with a very special award.
These students of Wilson Hall were quiet and focused on Libby Liberty™ with reverence and respect, but raised the roof when they joined with Libby to sing the theme song of the tour, “You in the USA”. Wilson Hall and the Liberty Learning Foundation are grateful to Mayor Cynthia Johnson and her City Council for making this program possible for these students: our next great Americans.
