Wow!!! What a turnout we had at Arab Primary School’s Super Citizen Celebration! The gymnasium was packed with around 250 2nd graders who were receiving graduation certificates, taking the Helping Hands Pledge and honoring some very special heroes from stage.

The event is the finishing touch on a program that helps educators teach civics, character, financial literacy and social studies in the shrinking sliver of time they have left in their school days for these crucial subjects. Liberty Learning Foundation, along with the generous sponsors you see below, donated the learning kits and grand events that help students realize they are important parts of their classes, their communities and this country.

In the final piece of the Super Citizen Program, these 2nd graders get to use the lessons they’ve learned in the real world. They study the characteristics of people who changed history and they learn to model those characteristics. Or … as we say in the program, “When you honor a hero, you become a hero.”
