We are back in Alabama this week! Today the Next Great Americans Tour visited Dean Road Elementary in Auburn, AL!

The faculty and students at Dean Road had such refreshingly positive attitudes! It was such a nice greeting to see their smiling faces early this morning as we pulled the bus up to their school which has brightly colored columns that look like crayons! Very cool! In fact, the entire school was beautifully landscaped. It looked like a school in the middle of a park!

The music teacher had taught our tour anthem to these students, and they were so excited to sing it! As soon as I mentioned that song I could tell that they were really looking forward to it!

We received true Southern hospitality at Dean Road today. They even had some yummy refreshments for us! Baby Liberty (aka Francesca) especially enjoyed the cookies! She even asked for more after we left!

We are grateful to Ms. Sims and Ms. Greenwood for their help and for being so welcoming to our team. We also want to say a special “thank you” to Mr. Penny for all of his help and encouragement. It was so nice to meet all of you!

We are off to Dothan, AL tomorrow where we will visit Heard Magnet School!
