One hundred and twenty five fifth grade students packed into the Providence Elementary A/V room to celebrate their graduation from the 10-week Super Citizen Program. In addition to learning crucial lessons in civics, character, financial literacy and social studies, they have learned how to apply those lessons in the community.
Today, they received graduation certificates, took the Super Citizen Pledge and honored local heroes from stage.
“The children learn that ‘heroes’ don’t need a cape, don’t need to be famous or rich. They just need to have positive impacts on their communities,” says Liberty Learning Foundation founder Patti Yancey.
The foundation, along with generous sponsors Mercedes Benz of Huntsville, donated multimedia teaching tools and orchestrated these grand events to show students they are important to our country’s future. See they exciting process from beginning to end >
