Fifty bright-eyed second graders gathered in their lunchroom to kick-off the Super Citizen Program. And they got a huge surprise from Libby Liberty™ who arrived on her Next Great Americans Tour bus!

Libby introduced them to the 10-week civics, character, financial literacy and social studies infusion that they will be a part of when the bus rolls away. She brought history to life and led them in a rousing version of “You in the USA.”

Then, Mr. Palmer (a hand-puppet character who “lends a hand in teaching the lessons of liberty”) appeared on three huge screens to let them know he, and his cast of characters, would be teaching them each week through his “Hands on Liberty” DVD series.

These small students are gearing up for a program that empowers them with the knowledge that they are part of something BIG. They have the most important titles in the world: citizens!
