On Dec. 4th, 2013, 489 students from Thompson Intermediate School jammed the Thompson High School Auditorium to celebrate completion of the 10-week Super Citizen Program.
Students, parents, teachers and VIPs sang with Lady Liberty, took the Super Citizen Pledge and began a HUGE ceremony honoring local heroes.
A total of 26 Torch Team Heroes took the stage after being introduced by the students who nominated and chose them. The heroes included a three-year-old diagnosed with cancer, a disabled veteran, Senator Cam Ward and more. See all the heroes in the photo album below.
A reception followed the Graduation in the foyer outside the auditorium. Several Alabama Power employees and volunteers were on hand, including Tim Bowen, TJ Fincher and Terri Tucker.
