On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 50 fifth graders at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Huntsville, AL began a program that will transform their understanding of civics, character, financial literacy and our Great American Story. Today, they were visited by Liberty Learning Foundation’s Next Great Americans Bus Tour and Lady Liberty herself.
Wearing Statue of Liberty crowns, waving flags and singing loudly, the students watched as the Green Lady brought history to life and introduced students to the Super Citizen Program they will continue for the next 10 weeks in their classrooms.
The program and events were made possible by Wells Fargo and are part of LLF’s high-energy infusion of crucial subjects in the small sliver of time educators have in their days after teach-to-test subjects.
With the help of great corporate citizens, donors, community leaders and educators we will continue the success of these programs and we will keep America in American schools. Will you be a part of this historic mission? Click here to help >
