Liberty Learning Foundation wrapped up a super day of kick-offs with Valley Intermediate School in Pelham, Alabama. The kick-off presents Libby Liberty™ (the Statue of Liberty in person) to help jump start the Super Citizen Program. This 10-week program teaches civics, character, financial literacy and what it takes to be a responsible citizen in our county.

But I believe this school is ahead of the game.  The Liberty Learning crew was met at the door by greeters, ushered into the cafeteria and assisted in set up and preparation.  The thrilling part was that the citizens performing this task were fifth-grade students.  Each student did this with a smile and a kind spirit, a Super Citizen spirit. An introduction script that usually would be performed by teachers, was led by two students, Laci Gogan and Dekya Beck.

The students listened intently as Libby Liberty™ told her story and they gave other schools a run for their money as they joined their voices to sing “You in the USA” at the end.  To say that this school is ahead of the game is an understatement, and the students of Valley Intermediate will become the next great Americans.
