Last stop of the week- Whitehead Road Elementary in Athens, GA!

Principal Luther McDaniel got things kicked-off for us on Friday afternoon…and boy what a kick-off it was! I think Principal McDaniel could have a second career in broadcasting if he wanted! What an amazing “announcer voice” he has! But, I’m sure that the students and faculty want him to stay right where he is!

The Whitehead Road students were energetic and seemed to really enjoy being at their school.

One thing I noticed about the school building was the unique architecture. As you walk the halls, you are bathed in natural light from the beautiful glass ceilings. There were also little outdoor courtyards right in the middle of the school with beautiful flowers and picnic tables! No wonder the students seemed to enjoy being there!

It was great to see the principal’s enthusiasm, and we were also glad to see a representative from the Clark County School District join us for the show!

So, the weekend is upon us. It has been a busy, and exciting week visiting Central Georgia! Next week, we will be in the Southern Georgia area meeting more of the Next Great Americans!

Wilkinson Gardens Elementary in Augusta, GA–we will see you bright & early Monday morning!
